Laura Ellefson, DMD
My story starts right here in Santa Rosa. I was born and raised here and have been a patient of Dr. Mlynarczyk’s since a teenager. My undergraduate degree in biology was obtained at Bates College in Maine. Following graduation, I returned to Santa Rosa for 3 years working as a research associate with a cell biology team at Medtronic Vascular. During that time, I met my husband, Tom, as we both trained for triathlons together. Tom is now Director of Global Supply Chain Planning with Medtronic Surgical Technologies. Even though cellular biology is fascinating to me, my passion was to have more interaction with patients & patient care along with the science.
Tom and I moved to Boston so I could study dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. At the same time, Tom got his MBA degree from Boston University. Upon graduating from Tufts in 2012 with my DMD degree, Tom was relocated for his career. So we lived in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, and I practiced dentistry in a multi-specialty non-profit group practice for 4 years. We are finally home again and ready to stay!
I love to spend time outdoors, whether that’s hiking, skiing, road cycling, swimming or scuba diving. Despite my years on the east coast I’ve remained a loyal Bay Area sports fan, especially a fan of the Giants. My focus in dentistry is prevention for young children, quality, patient comfort and trust. I strive to make my patients happy and it is my honor to help you with your dental needs. I very much look forward to meeting you!
